Grand Rounds

The Department hosts a clinical conference (Grand Rounds) with 2-1/2 hours of CME credit on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month, open to all. Patients from the resident clinics, community faculty practices, and the full-time faculty practices are presented in a live patient viewing session the 3rd floor of the Bolwell Health Center (Dermatology outpatient offices) at University Hospitals, from 7:45-8:15 AM. Discussion of patient morphology with live video projection of the histopathology is followed by discussion of diagnosis and therapeutic management. The clinical discussion is followed by a didactic lecture by a visiting professor or a speaker from our faculty. Topics range from applied dermatologic basic science to clinical therapeutics.

Cleveland Dermatologic Society

The Cleveland Dermatologic Society (CDS) holds quarterly meetings which draw approximately 200 community dermatologists, faculty, and residents from three training programs in the city. During these half-day meetings, patients from one of the training program departments are presented and discussed in detail.

The Department of Dermatology at Case Western Reserve University will host the upcoming CDS meeting at University Hospitals of Cleveland on September 21, 2006.
